R50/53 Where to buy a TPMS Sensor?
Where to buy a TPMS Sensor?
Well... I did a dumb thing and forgot to grab my TPMS sensor from the shady used tire place I bought a tire from and now I am missing 1 TPMS sensor. They replaced it with a normal stem because they didn't have the kit for a MINI and so it's my fault as I let them do it. So, does anyone know where I can buy one and not break the bank?

I don't think the '05 cars use TPMS sensors inside the tire.

Correct, active sensor TPMS was introduced during the 07 model year in the US. My 07 was one of the last to come off the boat WITHOUT active sensors . . .
Soooooooooooooo
if you are seeing the pressure alert you just need to 'reset' (aka initialize aka retrain) the system which is NORMAL if you change a tire ..... procedure is in the owners manual
in short find the button and with car running but not moving press and hold until the warning light flashes
Initialization is completed while you
are driving, but you can stop the car
at any time. Initialization is automatically
continued when you continue driving. Do
not initialize the system if you are driving
with snow chains or a space-saver spare
tire.<
1. Before a journey, start the engine, but do
not start driving.
2. Press the button until the indicator lamp
in the display elements lights up in yellow
for several seconds.
3. Drive off.
Initialization is completed during the
drive, without any feedback issued.
the system 'learns' the current pressures and will alert when enuf deviation happens that the ABS can detect the change ..... SO, be sure the pressures are CORRECT b4 you 'retrain'

Thanks! All 4 tires were within 2 psi of each other, (24-26 psi) and a reset would not fix it. I wound up putting all 4 to 40 psi and resetting it again and it worked. For the first time since I put this car on the road it now has no warning lights on, and that makes me way happier than it should! I am hoping to gain a little MPG by putting them up that high (lower than the 44 PSI I run in the Prius C, but still...) and want to see if I can push it to a 30 MPG city tank.
