Interior/Exterior 2nd gen seats in a 1st gen?
Yes, you can put gen2 seats in a gen1 - but with a catch... I bought gen2 lounge leather seats and installed them in my MCS gen1. You will also have to swap out the seat belts and catches as the buckles are different and won't buckle unless you do. It wasn't hard and didn't take long. Just remember to disconnect battery before disconnecting any wires so you won't have to reset airbag light. If looking for seats, check out All Mag Auto Parts. I bought driver, passenger, and rear seats along with all seat belts from them and was a great experience. The seats were as described, and they were pretty reasonable shipping from Tampa,FL to Atlanta. They packed them up real well in wardrobe boxes. I really enjoy the seats and would do it again. Oh yeah, and they bolt right up so no other seat rails needed. One of my favorite features on gen2 seats is the rear seat access latch is up behind shoulder instead of down low by seat rail. Much more convenient! You won't get smacked in the head by the back of the seat coming forward when you try to access the rear seat area. Lol
