Anyone recognize this bit?

Was putting the r53 2005 mcs in front end service mode and this fell out on to the ground (see pic).

Fell out just left of the radiator on the drivers side. When I put it back together I could not find a place for it.

Cable management. Holds a wire loom somewhere. Don't have my Mini anymore so I can't check.

Have a look on realoem for something that looks like that to see where it goes.

Mine's in front end service mode now, I'll take a look tonight and see what I can see. There aren't very many places where three wires are held by one clip - lots of places with two. I'll see what I can see later tonight.

Just looked quick. The only place I see a three-way wire holder is attached to the upper drivers' side engine mount just to the front of the ECU and fuse box. It holds wires from the ECU, the engine bay fuse box and something coming from the right side below that. No time for a pic right now though.

Here you go. ['05 S, hatch]

The attaching screw is the one on the left. Screws into a lug on the upper transmission mount bracket.

A wider view.

Again, the bolt on the left.

At 68 I no longer trust, "Oh, I'll remember where that goes".
Now it's bag, tag and take an extra photo, Ha!

Thank you, gents looks like I should be able to get to that from the top without removing much if anything. Nice

robj, have to get better with the bag, tag and photos. It can really save you sometimes...
