Body color headlight trim?

Has anyone painted their headlight rings body color?

Do you have pictures of any R50/52/53 with this done?

I just replaced my chrome grill with the knockoff JCW grill in black. I'm wanting to get rid of most, if not all of the chrome trim on my car. I see the replacement headlight rings in black, but think I want to do mine in hyper blue. Hoping to see someone else's first to make sure I like the look

Any help? (yes, I searched first)

Be careful. I thought of doing the same thing with my silver 05. But after thinking about it...I hate mono-chrome (all one color !) cars.
I would think that some black would look good to break up the blue some on you car as it might on my silver car.
I've bought the dark headlights, but have yet to install them. I also bought the black JCW grill pieces to go on my 05 JCW. The front of the car looks much better than with the body color, "bar" grill.

Did you paint the center bar in the hood black before installing your new grill..?

I painted the entire area behind the upper and lower grills. It's not just the center bar that shows through body color.

As far as not going monochrome, that's not a problem. The black grill makes a big difference. Plus, I've got a black roof, and black viper stripes with red accent stripes. Reason I'm thinking body color for the headlight rings is because I think I have too much black going on on the front.

Check minitorque for examples as color coding is big over there. Here’s one, but the pics are hosted on the photo site that many say ruined the internet. You just need to click on the blurred pic to be taken to a clear but squished pic. Then click on the gear icon and select download from the menu and the pic should turn out clear and in the correct aspect ratio.

That's EXACTLY what I was looking for, and the look I want.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what the chrome trim rings are made of? Are they actual plated metal, or plastic with a chrome-like coating? Just wondering what in going to run into if I try to scuff these and paint them.

Here's the front end as it sits now (apologies for the crappy light-afternoon sun flooding the garage windows).

I hadn't reinstalled the front plate. That's about the only thing I miss about living in FL.
