Motor Mount

Good Morning ladies and gents,

Has anyone had experience replacing the passenger side motor mount on the 3rd gen platform? I heard it's a weak point on the new gens and I've recently begun hearing a vibrating noise when the car downshifts or while in reverse.

TIA,

I had a problem on my 2015 with harsh vibrations at low speeds going into first/second or in reverse. I replaced the lower engine mount with the Powerflex one that everyone recommends as an attempt to upgrade and fix the problem at the same time.
Solved the harsh vibrations, however there are more vibrations from the motor overall.

expected behavior. The Powerflex bushings are made from polyurethane, which is much stiffer than the rubber original equipment. If the vibration bothers you then replacing the bushing with a standard MINI one will bring you back to original feel.

I've taken the mount out just last week, saw a little tear at the joint which explains a slightly rough vibration during idle. The tear isn't as large as some of the others seen on this forum, but it's enough to suspect source for vibration.

The tech service bulletin outlines the "proper" procedure of doing this replacement which I deem is a bit excessive. They want us to undo the A/C lines which really is in the way of getting the mount out. Well, I'm not inclined to do something like that. So instead, I figured to go the alternative way by removing that passenger headlight bracketry plus all the shrouds in the same vicinity. Without doing this, I would risk denting or breaking the A/C lines, but to completely remove the headlight bracket, I would have to remove the radiator, because the inner torx bolts are being blocked by the radiator and its piping. It all becomes easy after the radiator gets removed along with all them shrouds in the way. I'll also be using the 3M windo-weld to fill the motor mount with, that should be a permanent fix for it.
