Picked up a 2009 JCW at an auction today. After a deeper examination it looks like the turbo was replaced with a turbo from a MCS.
Any idea on how this will compromise performance?

nothing bad will happen but you will be down on power.
I sell turbos that are slightly larger than JCW and paired with my ECU tuning you will gain 70hp
The markings on the turbo are for sure a standard turbo S. My guess is the prior owner needed to replace the turbo and instead of spending the extra money on a JCW version just used the starndard turbo from an S.
What I don't know yet is if the car has a tune for an S OR a JCW
My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that the boost targets are the same between S and JCW, but JCW turbo flows better at the high rpms to provide high power numbers.
