My daughter lives in South Jersey, Sunday we had a lot of rain when she was on her way to work she drove thru a puddle about 6" deep and the engine sputtered and quit.
Monday I towed it back home to North Jersey and have not had a moment to look at it. I read some of the forum posts that indicate the Genius cooper designers put the intake down low enough to suck water into the ****ing engine and I just assume that is what happened.... The kicker is.. This is my car, she was using it while hers was in the shop....
I have been pretty Busy in the evenings and have not done anything with it, Tonight if the rain lets up I will pull the plugs and air cleaner, Crank it and dump some Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders to see if there is any real damage... It has occurred to me that this might just be the coils got wet or something. But I am prepping for the worst....
I am fully capable of putting a new motor into it, (I rebuilt the Trans on this car when I got it earlier this year) I just don't want to so if the motor is shot, Down the road it will go.
I am purchasing a new truck soon and this was getting traded in anyhow....
Update:
Motor is done!
It turned over and then locked.
I am confident a connecting rod broke.
