The saga continues...Yesterday I acquired this poor paceman. I had been on my radar for months and finally she'll be coming home. I couldn't resist the way it looked and options it has. in few words, it is fully loaded but hopefully not with water lol. I will keep updating the first post and add dates as I go. here she is:
9/25/2019: Acquired
Arrived this morning 9/27/2019:
The unfortunate fact is that some people are inherently destructive and wish upon them what they do to others. Someone stole the keyfob and the engine oil cap (aluminum cap/after market looks nice). Upon further inspection, The car seems to have been tuned. big intercooler, dp, and big muffler tips. there is also a boost gauge and a button on the side. The previous owner also painted the brake calipers and looks like the suspension is dropped a bit. it sits as high as my clubman!
9/29/2019: Since the keys were stolen at the auction site, I had to roll up my sleeves and extract the CAS. After I got the CAS out, I spent even more time trying to get the EEPROM off of it. The module had a different chip mask unlike the other coopers I dealt with. This one was 0M23S mask. My R270 couldn't read it, so Xprog was my next programmer. I could't find anything clear online for the connection or how to. Luckily, I was able to compile the info and get it going. The Chinese clone programmer was tricky to use! Any who, I got the file extracted and programmed a new key until I can order another one from the dealer. So far the screen controller and the trunk lock are not responsive.
10/11/2019: misc tasks: For the past couple of days, I have been removing some furniture to remove the carpet. I also did a couple oil and ATF flushes to make sure all/most water is out of the system. The car as it sits now, I can drive it in the drive way and it starts right up. I have to get a new bluetooth module and get the programming/coding going. I have a CEL for the gas tank level sensor, so we'll dig more into that a little later. I also have the 4x4 along with abs and dcs that needs to be addressed. In the past, I would run though NCS and the codes go away, but for this one, I get an error #0715 doent match the FA of the car. running ISTAD, the production date is 10/15, so I am not sure if that has something to do with it. I'll see if I can change that # number over the weekend. it's as bad as it looks...lol
10/14/2019: Last night, I got the replacement fusebox that came out of another R61. the one I used was from my R56. Both JBEs have an R56 designation, so for the time being it helped start the car and do other stuff. So, new JBE installed and happy to report that check engine was no more. Also as mentioned before, I had to edit my VO from #0715 to #0714 since my NCS couldn't access the whole list. after that, I was able to recode the ABS module which take care of the trifecta lol.

it makes it stand out for sure I ran carfax, no accidents and has a good dealer service record. It just lost the battle with water. It's getting picked up today and dropped of tomorrow...I'm super hype now
There is another device but way over my budget that can unlock original mini keys. For the chinese keys, the comfort access does not work. I have shown that in another forum recovering a flooded R55
I am watching you closely on this one. I am curious to see how you tackle the errors. Most people would give up but I know you won’t. Good luck .
Your post came right on time actually. When I fire NCS, I get an FA error for VO #0715 with is for the product date of the car. So i decided to change it to #0714 and it actually went through. With that, I was able to recode the abd/dcs module to turn off the these three lights. I still have a check engine light for the fuel level sensor though. A used fuse box is coming in the next few days and I'm also in the process of removing the carpet to dry out. While the rear seats are detached, I'll take a look at the fuel tank connectors amd wires.
I would bet that fuel level sensor will clean up with the new fuse box. Seems that it’s a finicky area on that board. I fought a fuel pump relay problem that used to give fuel level errors too. Either that or they tried to replace the pump or filter and got the lever sensor hung up on the in tank tubing. Sounds like you got the big problem out of the way. 👍🏻
Well I am late to the party but your car has a LXM sticker on it, member number 882 of the League of Xtraordinary Miniacs. This is a group on facebook. If you ask nicely you might get page owner to send message to owner (or whomever is registered to that number on the site).. https://www.facebook.com/groups/LXMINIacs/

Thank you, I will reach out to them. I personally dont have facebook, so might have to use my wife's.
Over the weekend, I got the carpet back, installed the dash, center consul, and the driver seat... I took it out for spin and I have mixed feelings . The only thing that bothered me was the exhaust system. It is a catless and muflerless system. It is loud and feels like it is reducing the power of the engine. Not sure if the ALL4 is making it that bad but for the big intercooler, I thought I would feel the G forces! I didn't take it on the highway because the rear suspension was knocking where the old rear control arm broke.
Forgot to mention I got a new key from the dealer and used ISTD to activate the comfort access option.
based on realoem.com the exhaust system is the same for both.
The car seemed to have few goodies installed but they where either taken off or stolen. The shock tower brace was gone and the intake box was gone too. Even with sport mode, the car does not pop or burble. For now, the focus is on the rear right suspension so I can drive the car and have it inspected.
Thanks for the offer, but I have one from my parts car, but since the car has big FMIC, I thought there might've been something like AEM intake system.
