The toughest decision: Riding or Mini?
The toughest decision: Riding or Mini?
Ok, the time has come for me to make a very hard decision... My first love of riding and my horse or my dream of owning a Mini.
Right now I am paying to board my horse at a facility that is half of the drive that I once had to make out to the family farm. It's been great now that I am living here in Plainfield to have him only half an hour away and in the care of people that I trust to make the right choices if an emergency were to occur before I could arrive on scene...But it is costly and that is money that is being taken from my savings for my Mini.
I have a show, a bit of a retirement celebration I guess you could say, for my wonderful horse this summer and after that I am not sure what to do about the stabling situation. I could send him back home and he could live out a lazy retirement, but he would be without any herd mates and with my parents who know very little about caring for him other than the basics that I taught them before I moved here. Do I formally retire my mount and put the money torward a Mini or keep the horse where he is and continue to ride him for pleasure ???
I love my dear horse, I hate to think of sending him away again but I want a Mini so badly!!! The Mini bug has bitten me once again, especially after that Rally... so badly in fact that on Saturday night while riding with my Lt on the streets I had to have him stop so I could check one out that was parked here in town! lol.. I wonder if they noticed the handprints in the morning frost??
Opinions?Thoughts?

I understand wanting a MINI so badly...trust me. With that said, I feel pretty confident in saying that the connection you have with your horse would be sorely missed. A MINI will not provide you with companionship like your horse will. Be patient. MINI's will not be going away. Enoy your horse.
I agree with Big Gripper. While I love my MINI, it doesn't compare to the comapnionship of a living being.
But, on the flip side, you could pull a Hidalgo and let the horse loose in the wild somewhere.
Run with the wild mustangs in the Dakotas or on the Outer Banks in NC.

I agree with the above. I have a crazy little mutt of a dog and if for some reason forced to pick between him and the MINI, the dog would win every time.
The MINI will come eventually.. its just delayed gratification.

Keep the horse. The Mini will come
I agree with the others. Keep your horse. At least untill you find that Single White wealthy male who already has a MC...
Cars are great and all. But a car gives no emotion back. Your horse truly has personality and he gives love back. No car can do this!
