Car wont start plz help (mini r56)
My car has recently stopped working out of the blue. Was driving one day and all of sudden it died. Got it towed back home and believed the HPFP stopped working so I replaced it along with the fuel pump filter. It still didn't turn on. Days later after doing some research, I thought the camshaft position sensor was the culprit and I replaced it as well. It still wouldn't turn on. Soon thereafter, I replaced the crankshaft sensor as well and the car still doesn't start. This has been going for almost three weeks and I don't know what to do. The car cranks but, just doesn't start. PLEASE HELP!!

is it getting gas?
is it getting spark?
has it had any recent work done, before it died?
any codes?
year, make, model?
miles on the odometer?
Hi there, thank you for the response. I have a 2010 Mini Cooper S with 54k miles on it. The only work done on the car was oil change very 3,500 miles and recently replaced the struts and brake pads. I did however ran my scanner and got the following codes back; P0342 and P0340. I just installed a new camshaft sensor so I’m thinking there must be a wiring issue of some sort. I also checked the fuel line and everything seems fine. I’m working on checking if the car is getting spark at the moment.
Between oil changes, struts, and brake pads, it's not likely these caused your current problem. Checking fuel line isn't enough --- you need to ensure fuel is getting into each cylinder. Also not likely to be a wiring error, if no work was done involving connectors / harnesses. Always double-check workmanship on previous repairs / service.
Have you tried a compression check? Maybe post some CR numbers. Then try pulling the valve cover and check timing --- with the proper special tools. 54K miles is about where the chain / guides start to fail.
FYI --- repair instructions and illustrated parts lists can be found online at https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ and https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select and for a hard copy, the Bentley manual is preferred by most of us.
