Best Skid Plate/Belly Pan

Have been doing some digging and it seems that there is only really two options for under car protection for the R60s countryman’s. The OEM plastic belly pan and the M7 aluminum skid plate. Was just wondering which one was better and maybe the pros and cons of both. My wife had a 2014 jcw countryman and we live in NY. Just want to add a bit more protection.

I do not have one (yet) but the M7 looks to be the best choice. Great design, built to be punished.

Had the M7 plate installed. It looks great and went on with no problems. It completely shields the bottom of the motor. It's quite sturdy - much more so than the factory belly pan, which would offer only nominal protection. If you think you might be in a situation where you will be running over something that could puncture the oil pan, etc., then the M7 is the way to go. Free shipping made me happy too.

Cost to install both the M7 skid plate and an M7 22 mm rear sway bar and do an oil change came to under $300. Not at the dealer, of course.
