Any success with Warranty grandfathering? 2C57 code
Hey All
My son's R56 2013 Cooper S - has popped the 2C57 codes - I'm in the process of diagnosing down if it's the Blow-off Valve, Diverter, Wastegate, HPFP or Turbo currently. I've read several threads where it's stated that Mini has extended the warranty to 10yr/120K as my luck would have it my son's Mini is at 123K and now hitting the issue.
Has anyone ever had luck begging Mini to consider this and either offer significantly reduced warranty cost to us - partial cost or something like grandfathering it in??? This could turn out to be costly. I can manage the repairs if it's the Blow-off, Diverter or HPFP - but the Wastegate or Turbo are pushing my skill limit.
Thoughts on the issue or my thinking?? The car shows a CEL partially filled, no reduction in power and cycling the start of the car sees it go away for a period of time. Codes in the Bimmer reader are: Fault Code: 002C57 Fault Explanation: Boost pressure control, plausibility: Pressure too low
Appreciate any guidance or thoughts here.

No experience with Mini on this but I had something similar with a VW Jetta GLX. Bought the car about 20 years ago. A couple of months after the warranty expired, the water pump died. The dealer talked with VWoA on my behalf and got the repair covered. If you have a good relationship with a Mini dealer, maybe they can help you out.
