hey guys so i think i need my thermostat housing to be replaced
anyone know about what the price is for that? i called a couple places
the dealer near me said $1500....
midas said about $400-$450
anyone know if about $400 is a decent price to get this done?
i live in so cal and have an '05 r52

It really is not that hard to do and if you have a few tools a DIY job. Plenty guides and most apply to your car too. Good luck and save yourself a few hundred dollars.

 

I paid a little over $200 for parts and labor at an independent shop.

 

I did it myself, fiddly job, maybe 1.5 hours. Make sure to replace the thermostat with genuine MINI or you will regret it. I used an aftermarket housing.
