Input please on wheel choice
I'm still not sure whether I'll opt for these, but after a couple of months deliberating (size, weight, offset, aesthetics price etc. etc.
) I keep coming back to 'em.
So, at the moment the MCS is bone stock. It's an '05 (obviously without LSD) and will have the JCW tuning kit added early in the New Year. I'm not sure yet whether the car will eventually be lowered (possibly JCW suspension with 10 mm drop) or have a big brake kit fitted.....both possibilities, but not definites.
My current favourites are Volk LE37T in 17x7.5" with ET42 offset. I will probably retain the stock 205/45-17 runflats.
So, any downside of fitting these (apart from price
). These will only be used for the summer months.
Will the car tend to tramline more? Will there be more torque steer because of the offset? I presume there will be less sidewall protection using the standard tyres on 0.5" wider rims? Anything else?
The other option I'm considering would be a set of 16" OEM X-Lites (again with the standard 195/55-16 runflats).....but I'm not sure how well these would cope with the JCW kit without LSD?
I really wish MINI would sell a set of nice lightweight forged 17" rims with the correct offset

LOVE the LE37 myself... wish i had the money
your concerns are more worries i just see it as.. i got 215/45 tires on motegi 17x7 rims, and i got none of the problem except of torque steer and minor tramline when i go over streetcar tracks
kyriian, kenchan,
Thanks for your input guys. I keep going round in circles on this wheel thing (no pun intended
).
I also REALLY like the 17" anthracite R90s.....but don't like their weight and the fact that they cost about the same as the LE37Ts.
