2014 Cooper s BlueTooth Adapter Question

Just picked my MINI today, got a screaming good deal on it, and I quickly figured out how to pair my phone with the sound system. However, is it possible to use bluetooth to play music streaming like Spotify? Or do I have to connect through the Aux in port?

My wife has used Amazon Music on her phone to play through the bluetooth connection. I imagine Spotify should work also!

I have a bluetooth device plugged into the aux jack that allows me to stream without a cable. Small, but you must recharge on occasion.

I also have something similar that I am using for now.

I just ordered a 4' 30 pin iPhone extension that I am going to plug into the Y adapter that came with the car and then hide it under the center console and feed it up through the dashboard so I can then plug it into my phone. That way I can charge and play music at the same time.

Pictures to follow.
