I searched and found a lot about PCV issues, but this is a little different. We have a 2013 CM S All4 with 84k miles. I noticed a little oil residue at the connection of the charge pipe that is connected to the intake and the pipe just up stream. I pulled the air box off and took the pipe off of the intake. There was some oil in the tube, not a lot, but it was more than just a film. I had bee getting a little oil smell in the car usually at startup so I investigated further. I figured the PCV was dumping oil into the turbo, but when I pulled the PCV hose it was completely dry. The turbo inlet was also dry and it seems like the turbo shaft has no slop, so I can't figure out where the oil came from.
One thread I found a guy talked about his PCV being blocked and the excess crankcase pressure was keeping the oil from draining out of the turbo, to the point it was forcing oil out of the turbo into the intake piping.
Has anyone experienced this? Should the PCV hose be completely dry? I would have expected some oil residue.
Really old thread, but, figured id try to revive it-if this user still exists lol.
I have what I think is similar situation (countryman 2, 2012, 65k miles) with some oil in that charge pipe, leaking through the joint between the 2 pieces (with the hose clamp) and slight pooling up in the engine mount bolt area. Pic here of the oil
If you are still around, did you ever figure this out?
I have it as well 2016 CMS All 4 at about 95k miles. When I was in for the last oil change, the mechanic says its likely coming from the turbo seals (which of course he said it needed a new turbo...) I have a catch can in and put in a new valve cover with new PCV, it seems to me that there is less oil now than before but not sure if the its indeed the turbo. It spools fast and is making boost. Its my sons car now so I am not proactively replacing multi thousand dollar parts anymore. Indie mechanic quoted me $2600 for a new turbo install.

Sounds familiar haha, this is my daughters car whom is away overseas at University, so my wife and I drive it barely enough just to keep the thing driving-except now its on jacks (replacing belt and had lower engine mount bolts missing!). I ordered a new PCV cap/gasket as MINE is kinda gross and membrane has a tear (could have been from removal)....I do want it running well though...so, more to come. THanks for comment.

I have exactly the same leak on my 2013 Mini Countryman S. Leaking between the 2 joints for what I assume is the intercooler inlet pipe with oil pooling on the motor mount bolt.
Does it just need a new seal there or is it an issue with leaking turbo seals as the other person stated on his. Or did replacing the PCV cap/gasket resolve the leak? My Mini has over 150K miles.

I swapped out that PCV and put the new turbo snorkel/tube on that was cracked, fixed those items (spoke about that snorkel in another thread) and then cleaned up that oily area you referenced around christmas time-cars been running well, I just felt under that tube where it used to leak-i could feel oil but I think it might be better than before...I will check this weekend-I just did a QUICK check when I was checking oil dipstick the other day.
When my PCV went out there was oil all over on the top of the valve cover. Replaced the valve cover with new one. Last year my dealer said it was likely turbo seals putting oil in the pipe between the intercooler to intake (I had same situation as picture above) and/or turbo to intercooler. Now the turbo seals are indeed shot and turbo needs replacing.
I just replaced the PCV yesterday, the rubber seemed old but no holes or rips in the PCV seal and no oil leaking around the PCV. So I guess I am looking at turbo oil seals. I have 150K++ miles on the Mini and it does throw a boost leak error code intermittently but no limp mode. So the wastegate valve in the turbo is going bad too. Guess I will keep an eye on the oil and deal with it when it gets worse.
