Billet Grill

Somebody is selling billet grills on ebay for 2002-2004 Mini's problem is mine is a 2005 mcs, is there any difference in the design in the lower grill between the 04 and 05?

i have heard that MINI changed the bumper so the clips in the back of the grill should be differernt too.
again, it also depends on how the grill will be installed.
mine it is a clip-on based on the original grill. so it does not really matter.
but if it is a replacement part, it will have to be the exact model.

one thing you need to be careful is the quality.
is it hard enough to take impact on the street or not(if it is replacement of the original grill)
is it gonna get rusted later. how do you apply them on your car? do you need to retrofit it or not. it it is, you might be better off with a DYI version.

other thing is make sure it fit perfectly or it has edge protection from rubbing.

i have one on my car from MCT which i have been testing for three months now. it works great, but those are the things i have learn from it!

Hope this help!

Whoa...sorry, didnt mean to offend. I just tend to prefer clean installs, and it seems like something that is attached over an existing part would look just "added on" instead of integrated.

let's talk about the durability!
the replacment parts will not hold as much as the OEM plastics.
from the safe side, it will be better to go for the look)put it infront of it)than go for the replacement.

i dont prefer to have a car look good but fall apart every once a while.

I understand but I have always loved bilet grills and from the pictures it seems to look clean and all the other billet grills I have installed on other vehicles you had to cut out the existing grille so if you ever need to remove the you cant so the idea of being able to uninstall appeals to me

Luckily the current grill just unclips so you dont need to cut it but i totally undertand. In terms of it holding up better...i dont know? I would assume as long as it clips in like the stock one it would be just as durable...there are lots out there that just clip in and stay there.

I just tend to like a very clean and integrated look to the car. I was just voicing my opinion. I would love to see the outcome and hear what think about the airflow

Well I got the grill in yeaterday and put it on today and for only $69 it is pretty sturdy, clean looking but a BIOOOTTCCCHHH to install! Well not too bad because it is wire tied on but you have to take all the screws out of the air dam on the bottom side and then pull it back and slide your have up behind it to be able to put on the wire ties and believe it or not the hold good and you cant see them and if you want to take it off just cut the ties, pull it off and Bam. I will post Pics tomorrow

Kyriian, Where can I see pictures of your FF6 Motegi wheels, liked them in the catalog, did not see them on the car.
Thanks, Jcs

It installs over the stock grill so incase you want to take it off it goes back stock.
