Streaming audio via BT
Hello! Just bought a 2012 Cooper, Bluetooth is paired with my iPhone 8 but I can't figure out how to send audio from the phone (Maps, Music, etc) to the car speakers over Bluetooth.
I do not have any "approved" cables.
I do not want to have to use the Mini Connected app (it won't recognize my VIN anyway).
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Without the right set of options you cannot stream A2DP via BT. My car, and many others are missing certain options so can only do phone calls using Bluetooth. Retrofitting is expensive, very very expensive.
I think the necessary options were connected and the multimedia option.
There is a module that plugs into the USB and 3.5mm jack tthat will allow it, and retain the functionality of the steering wheel next/previous buttons, but it's about $90.

In 2012, Bluetooth audio was only available for cars with the MINI Connected option (i.e. the center dash has a display screen instead of a large speedometer). If that is the case, see this: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...i-connect.html. Otherwise, you can get a Bluetooth receiver from Amazon for less than $20 and plug it into the aux input.
