I have 07 N12 Justa ,I was driving the other day just leaving the house sounded like rocks got sucked into the car and it lost all power it limped back home kept dieing along the way,I thought it was timing chain I hear so much about, tore in to it and everything looks great no broken pieces that I could see and I noticed oil was about 3/4 qt low so I thought maybe that was it. Put it back together, Ive had it about 2 months, its always had a rough idle runs smooth then dives then back to smooth for 10 seconds then drops again> but drives great going down the road. SO why I had it apart I pulled plugs they were all fouled so i put new plugs in topped up with oil and started back up,,it dosent sound good like a knock from the back im trying to upload a video

Check the hydrolic lifters if one got loose or fell aside.
check the accessory belt for chips. Remove it and test again.

Accessory belt is the same as serpentine belt.

 

SO I cant see anything wrong with the 24 lifters ,,nothing obvious at least, I did while i have it open mess with chain tensioner.
its pretty easy to move. But im not sure if thats cus cars not running and no oil.

Heads up for anyone else reading this changed tensioner no difference. Ill keep up with this when I find out what it is. Sounds like its coming from back of engine,,really hard to tell.

 

this turned out to be the valve seats coming apart and into the engine.
