SOLD: 2008 R55S Dead Engine (needs new block)

Year: 2008
Make: MINI
Model: Clubman
Price: $1000
Mileage: 135000
Color: Hot Chocolate
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): NorthEast

VIN Number: WMWMM33588TP71215

Cylinder 2 has a burned a and scorched sidewall. So the block is no longer viable as is and either needs to be replaced or sleeved. I dont have the time or patients to fix it. Piston 2 has a chunk missing out of it. Exhaust valve has chunk missing out of it.

Other than that car is in decent shape for a daily drive in New England.

The picture of the car are from when I picked it up in 2008, I cant find any other pictures right now and the car currently is packed tightly into my garage so getting pictures is difficult.

Rims shown on the car are not available

$1000 or best offer.

Pick up Only.

If no one in interested in the car as it sits in the next two weeks the car is getting parted out.

Sorry to hear about your engine...

What wheels do you have on it now? Any accidents? What are the most recent services done on the car?

No accidents. But as it was used as a daily driver it does have some they typical small parking lot scrapes. No large dings/dents.

Last time it was driven was July 2017. I had other cars in the garage being refurbished so this has been sitting for 17 months while the others were finished up and moved out of the garage where this needed to be to be worked on.

Current mileage as read today is 137128. Oil changes every 3000-3500 miles. New timing chain and carbon cleaning at 128451. New cluch, plate, bearing at 135704.

Wheels on the car in picture. They are the winter wheels that have snow tires on them. The original rims are going on another MINI.

Winter wheels with snow tires that have about 15k miles

Mileage at time of engine detonating.

Hoping you did the valve guides.

I should have taken the head off and done a full valve job (guides, springs, valves) when I did the timing chain. My mistake.

This would make a good project for me. I need few days or a week to get rid of my mini then i can come and take it. Does it come with the engine parts (even if disassembled)?

What is the lowest you would accept for it?

That's awful! Sorry to hear.

If you do start parting it out. Can I get first dibs on the front bumper, grille and trim? I'm also debating on the headlights if the price is fair.

Cheers .
