Pics of DS w/lower grill in silver?

Wondering how an M7 or other silver grill would look on a Dark Silver S. Any pics would be appreciated.

I don't have any pics, but I do have a silver M7 grill on my ds/w, MCS with white bonnet stripes. The quality is fantastic and it adds a very distinctive look. I debated between silver and black and I'm very happy I chose silver. I think you will be too.

Not M7

i have a DS/W S and i do not have the M7 fromt grill, but i made my own silver stainless steel grill a few weeks after i got the car, i picked up some stainless steel mesh from home depot and cut it and made a frame, i also did the back two grills in the bumper, it looks bada*s ill take a pick and post it later

Edit: the total cost was $10 and about 3-4 hours total.

How did you mount the rear grills? Aren't the rear grills on the MCS just decals? Or did you cut out the bumper and add them? I thought of cutting out the bumper and allowing the air to flow with less restriction.....Please post pics...Thanks!

Rear Grills

D.D. - The rear grills are not real, but they are not decals, they are solid pieces of plastic with a mesh-like print on them, they do come out and there is a hole for them, i made two replacements out of the stainless steel mesh, and i trimmed part of the heat shield so that it could be bent in order to make a proper "vent" for the exhaust, i am not sure of the functionality of the vents but i think they look sweet. check it out.

Thanks DD, the rear pieces are fairly self explanatory to remove, just take a flashlight and take a look under the rear bumper, they either pop out or clip out, but they come out pretty easy, you might have to bend the heat shield to get to them though. To attach them, i measured the clips that attatch the old grill to the bumper, and i cut holes in the mesh so that they were a little smaller than the clips so it would stay in place, ill take a few pics of the grill off the car.

Went to Home Depot today but did not find what I needed. I did find a similar, or the same grill material, but only in 24" long max. Heavy stuff though.
Just what is the material that you got?
Thanks!

It looks like the stuff they use on the side of houses to make stucco adhere. I picked some of it up there a couple of years ago for another purpose. It came in 2' x 8' sheets but I'm not sure if was SS. I think it was Al, which would be just as good or better IMOH. I would paint it "aero" black though .

It's called "wire lath" and is usually in the cement section.

Thanks, but that shot is really a micro view. I'm looking for a wider shot to get a feel for the "composition" of the front end with a silver grill.

The rear looks great. I will be doing that myself for sure.As for the front......I would have lost both things behind the mesh to a bunch of down tree branches and crap of all sorts this past weekend.

Whatever you put in front should be able to handle a good kick at least. IMO

I've got DS/W with Aero grille (stock bumper cover) and black M7 (actually made by Grillcraft). If you want a look, let me know. I'll go pop a shot with my pda.

Good stuff, I have a m7 grill too already. Proved to be tough as hell this past weekend driving thru a Eucalyptus forest along the coast.
