friend of mine is a expert on this.

he is actually selling these to other cars, and he made one for the MINI.
It is not the replacement kit.
we think a replacement will need to be tough enough to hold all kinds of road impact.
many after market kit is just for the look. I do not want to mess up my car when i hit those little stuff on the road.
The gill is perfectly fit on the lower grill(OEM)
It uses tiny zip tie(the smallest you can find) four of them to hold it on there.

I have used it for three months now. no flow issue and very tough too since it has the original gill back it up behind it. it is very easy to clean too.

I ask him to come up a painted version like the other cars does. he is working on it.

I plan to offer customer options to put their own name or letters on the gill.
the grill also comes with a chrome edge to protect you bumper from rubbing with the grill. (it could be change to different color too).

I felt that i'm his salesman now. better start asking him to pay me to type all these . do friends a favor like i always does .

He is selling those for $58.00 compare with those who selling them for over $100. come on, give us a break, it is only a grill!

Honda stuff only cost like $45.00. why charge us triple price, it is the same grill but different shape.

I am asking him to be more active in the MINI communities since he got a MINI not too long ago and been working on it. We should see him not too long from now to show up in the vendor list.

no hard feeling those who sell grills in the MINI communities, i did not mean to attack anyone here, it just my thoughts about some of the over priced items.

Maybe we can set up a group buy! maybe i can get his new Painted version free!

Are you talking about racemesh? I had his prototype on my car for a few weeks and it is good if you are just looking for a cover to the original grill. There are pics on these forums of it on my car. If this is the grill you are talking about let me know so I can link you to them (I believe this is the same grill as I know his first sale was to someone in Georgia)

never heard of it. In georgia?

His company is called MCT or MC Tech.
dont know how he came up the name but it works perfectly with MINI COOPER TECH!

He used to work for Clarion and Stillwater, he is the Master tech there. he has his own business now. he does all kinds of crazy stuff. He made somethin to put on your stock airbox with stock filter and boost more power from it.
He has his twister exhaust and that airbox mod only on his car and he can drive way faster than me on a straight away.(I have BMP intake, exhaust, 15% BMP pulley, Denso plugs and Jackson racing wires, and yokohama tires and all kinds of s**t on my car) i can not see how he get faster than me.
but that was the story about him. he is coming out a DYI kit for us on that airbox thing(i know what it is, but i just can't tell, sorry, dont want people call me a spy).

it is way too much promotion for him and the company. i will ask him to check this thread.

Thanks! I wanted to offer a high quality grille rather than a DIY type hardware store product.

PRODUCT INFO – Get that Aggressive Sporty Look with a Woven Wire RaceMesh™ Precision Grille for your car. Made from 316 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Weave (Tuxedo Black Powder Coat is also available), framed in a flexible PVC rubberized trim with individual internal metal (aluminum) clips and gripping tongue to provide a strong grip. Precision laser cut to ensure a precise fit. Mounting hardware included with each RaceMesh™ Precision Grille. Installation is simple, no modification to the OEM grille is required, and installs in about 10 minutes.

NOTE: RaceMesh™ Precision Grilles are fabricated from the same wire mesh weave as currently found on the Cadillac CTS-V, STS, and Jaguar XK8/XKR!

Fyi

racemeshgrilles.com - offers the front and rear RaceMesh for the MCS, in standard stainless steel, Polished (which is like chrome) SS, and Black powder coat. Very nice quality - just like the Jags and Caddies factory units.
