Headlight recommendations

How can I tell if my 05 MCS came with xenon headlights? I have aftermarket that don’t work very well. Would you spend the money on xenon or a particular aftermarket unit

I don't have any problem with my OEM 2004 Xenon lamps, I actually like them. It be cool of they made some active steering Xenon units for the mini like I had on my 08 M3. Maybe you could source a used set for less than retail replacement.

If you have the small pop out covers for the headlight washers you then have Xenons. As all xenon lights on R53 have washers.

If you want a cost effective replacement check out these that use H7 bulbs and are a direct plug and play.
