I'm just wondering what the range of prices for the JCW kit installation are.

Pittsburgh is $5600

This is the "base" JCW kit without the CAI. There are three dealers in Pittsburgh. Mini of Pittsburgh is the only "authorized" one under the new rules I understand.

The JCW Kit now includes the air intake and larger injectors, and costs $4,650 an increase of $150 over the "old" kit. Any dealer with "old" kits would have to discount them to sell them or throw in the $525 upgrade kit at no charge.

JCW Kits are probably most expensive in SF Bay Area where labor rates are $125-150 per hour and sales tax is at least 8.25%.

I had it installed on a brand new 2005 MCS at Mini of Pittsburgh and they added 6600 to the base price of the car... Sounds like I got charged too much (this was Monday)

The official installation instructions for the "old" kit indicated approximately 9 hours of labor, although I think most dealers were charging at least 10 hours. Add 1.5 to 2 hours for installing the larger injectors and air intake, and I think you could reasonably expect to pay for 12 hours of labor on the current kit.

Find out your dealer's labor rate and you can calculate what would have been a reasonable charge.

Does the JCW cold air intake come with the kit? The website lists it as an extra cost option.

If you received the air intake (and associate injectors/map) along with the kit for $4650, please tell me where you got it

$5500 installed in OH before delivery to SF, and no sales tax.

All 2005 JCW Kits include the air intake and larger injectors:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=32457

The air intake and larger injectors are available as an upgrade for the "old" JCW Kit for $525.

The air intake is available for the non-JCW MCS for $450.

Unless the $5500 was included in the sale price reported to the DMV

I paid $5650 for mine as well, installed. $4650 for the kit, and $1000 for labor.

That the price without install.

I was quoted $6700 from my MA during purchase...Then I asked my SA and ask him for his price and got a quote of $5800.

I paid a total of $5700 for my 03 JCW kit from Crown MINI of Richmond. This price included both installation and VA sales tax (~$200). I think now they charge $6000 plus tax.

My upgrade kit arrive yesterday from Classic MINI in Ohio. I paid about $480 as they gave me a 10% discount.

$6300 at MINI of Sterling in Virginia. But in all fairness they were trying to match the regular installed price from Crown MINI in Richmond, because I threatened to buy the car from Crown if they did not come down in price.

Paid $6400 in Los Angeles for the full '05 kit installed. Then again I got mine done on Sat/Sun while I was driving the weekend car and I didn't have to wait weeks for an apointment :-)
