I was hoping to install the Piano Black Illuminated Dash Trim on my wife’s 2019 MCS. She currently has fiber alloy. I already called the local dealer and he was unable to find the part number for the illuminated trim piece. Can anyone confirm if this can be done? Thanks in advance.
That's deeply odd. Would not surprise me if it was only available as part of a much larger assembly, but there should at least be part numbers somewhere. I can't find evidence they even exist.
Thanks bratling. I called rep at outmotoring.com as well. He said they only sell the non-illuminated dash trim pieces. He said it may be factory only option. Of course the car my wife test drove had this option and now she wants it.
Hoping for opinions on the Illuminated Piano Black Interior before I pull the trigger on my custom build. Is it too much? Does it get distracting at night? Im looking for any and all opinions and feed back. Will be a black exterior Iconic F60 with Chesterfield Oak interior leather, and anthracite headliner.
Thank you!!!!
I have this in my F60 All4S. Its a really nice feature. I was worried it would be too much but its done really well, adds a ton of personality and just enough ambient glow to the interior. FWIW, I love it. My wife loves it. Noone we have had in the car does not like it.
Here’s the piece. I just got mine in yesterday. Now gotta figure out install. Someone mentioned before to use the footwell plug this has three plugs on bag. Just need to get under cash to get a better idea. My dealer couldn’t even find these with the parts. I’m at so they were no help.
Sorry if this is an obvious partial answer, but I would suggest reading thru the various online instructions, including Youtube videos, on installing the Secret Compartment. The Illuminated Dash Trim installs in the same location as the Secret Compartment so the disassembly and re-assembly of the dash should be pretty close.

Its not that so much it’s the electrical component part. What to tap into etc
As accessory and mod heavy as the Mini world is, I wonder why this add-on has proven to be so unfriendly and difficult to get info on how retrofit or upgrade even 2018+ cars to. It's easier to find info on how to upgrade a Nav screen from 6" to 8".
I ordered this and the factory plugs and pins. Didn’t like the way my crimp job turned out so I’m having a harness made by a guy that makes lighting harness for golf gti tail light swaps. He made a harness for my other daughters car so we could swap the euro dynamic tail lights into the USA cars. We where trying to go with a plug and play complete harness buck can’t find the female plug that would work at the footwell lights. Right now we are just leaving the 4 wires to where all I have to do is tap them into the foot well wires. If all turns out I’m sure he would be glad to sell this harness. I’m sure cost will be reasonable. I’ll keep everyone posted. Here are some photos of my crappy work and his great work. Lol

Great that you found someone to make a clean harness. I've been searching for hours that female connector to make a splitter cable from the footwell, I found the male connector on aliexpress and even on a Porsche Cayenne forum, but the female connection doesn't seem to exist. Maybe a molding of the footwell module is the only way to build something clean without modification of the stock harness. I'm from France and I have friends from UK and Switzerland who would be very interested in buying such harness.
My wish is to add B pillar lighting, like the R56 used to have, using a spare R56 B pillar and a spare F56 door card's harness. You can find cheap retrofit kits for BMW from aliexpress, they really look OEM. It's a simple splitter harness from the footwell. It looks like an easy job, but this damn connector makes it really difficult.
