So I received the harness tapped into the footwell lighting and all works great. If anyone is interested in this let me know. I’ll send you mike’s info.

By the way. This took 30 mins to install. It’s that easy.

I swapped my 2018 MINi F60 Passenger Side Dash Trim to the one that has Illumination feature(Yours Package) Piano Black.

For the Right Hand Drive the Part is "Decorative Trim Pass.Side Il 514041" & Part#51459350476.

The colours from the dash trim r subtle and appreciable/visible more in dark/ night.
The replacement part came with the 3 Led units populated on the slots at the back. So, one need NOT buy the LED units separately.

If U have a 2018 or older F60, there is a sure/high chance u have these 3 dangling connectors behind the dash into their dummy slots.
If U do not find these 3 sets of wires dangling behind your existing trim, i understand that you need to create these wire sets by tapping into the LED module in the footwell.

The Illuminated Dash Trim for the Passenger side comes with a matching part for the Drivers side but the drivers side is NOT illuminated.

The newer 2021 models have more patterns & colours of the dash trim but i could not locate them on the MINI parts website.
The colours i could see for "YOURS PACKAGE" were British Oak & ChestNut(discontinued) & Piano black.

The Passenger side of the Dash trim is easy to remove by passing a plastic trim from lower edge and is held in place by metal clips that snap into the slots. You will also need to remove the screen of the Radio since the lower arc of the radio screen overlaps the upper arc of the Dash trim.
There is a wire that connects to the AC controls that also needs to be unplugged. The AC controls module is held by 4 screws and 3 plastic clips that need to removed/released for the module to pop out.

The part cost me around 280 US$ on the MINI parts website and took a month to make & ship from Germany to the USA.I live in the Caribbean and had to import the part from USA to Caribbean where we drive Right Hand Drive. If u change/ascend/descend on the last number of the part that i purchased, you can search and see the other options.

Is this only possible on 2018 or older?

The look and trim of previous generation of MINI which are not the F60 are different & they cannot be upgraded to this Illuminated Dash Trim.
Only the F60 can be upgraded and that too if they contain the suitable wiring.
In my understanding, if your F60 model has Electronic Memory seats and/or/with/without AutoDim mirror, it is highly likely that your F60 dash trim has the wiring required to retrofit this part. It is required that you remove your old F60 trim to check for the 3 dangling connectors.

My wife has a 2017 F60 which has the Illuminated Dash but I have a 2019 version which doesn't have it but has the other ambient lighting, so wondered if I could upgrade?

Upgraded with success

Well, bit the bullet and purchased online the Illuminated panel as it was at a price too good to miss. All the plugs were already slotted into dummy holders on my current trim so was just a case of swapping over and I now have the illuminated dash. It's a pity the light switch surround isn't Illuminated as well

I didn't do anything other than what you seem to have done. Stupid question, have you tried it in a dark environment i.e. at night. It is pretty poor during daylight, not like the other ambient light fittings and really only shows up in the dark

Thanks for the reply, that is the problem…daylight….I removed the led modules and they were indeed lit….from some of the other pictures in this post I thought maybe I would be able to see at least something with out it being completely dark. All is good…

That's good to hear.

I haven't actually tried it in daylight as such but just out of curiosity I will at some stage. As you have stated some of the photo's further up show the lights illuminated in daylight, so I think I will actually turn the dial at the light switch area all the way up as I think it may also have some sort of control over the ambient lighting. If not then I don't know how it looks so bright in the photo's above?
