I took the glass lenses off and was wiping the chrome reflective part with windex and some of it came off and now that part is black...
Has anyone had anyone luck with chrome pai t out of an arisol can? If so what kind. I would like to just paint them black, but I don't think that would work...
I've seen paint like that before. I imagine you would want to sand off what you can and spray the outside of the housing - the smooth surface of the clear plastic will be what your mirror finish will be seen through. I've never see anyone use it with a light application, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Rally Lights all back together. Chrome paint 🤣🤣🤣, just looked like silver... So I had them powder coated Chrome w/ a clear coat and new lenses from Ecstuning...
These are Factory lights, I just restored them. They could use brighter bulbs. I'm not use to factory bulbs. Even with the headlights being 4300K seem dull and yellow
Do they turn on with the regular light switch or is there a factory "rally light" switch that models without them don't have? I was thinking about getting some, but I really don't want to wire in something that doesn't look seamless. If I could get them to turn on with brights or with the fog lights, that'd be awesome.
Any tips on disassembling the rally lights? I need to replace the lenses in mine, they've yellowed over time. I've got the Mini install instructions, but still unable to separate the two clam shell pieces that retain the lens. Just uncertain how to disassemble without the potential of breaking something.

There is a small torx screw holding both halves together on the bottom backside. Take the screw out and pop them apart. Next take the housing and lens, with a small screwdriver, carefully pry up on the tabs to pop off the trim. Then you will need a T5 security torx ( this is a torx bit with a hole in the center) to take the lightbulb out of the lens housing. After that set the lens housing on a big piece of cardboard and crack the glass lens with a chisel and hammer. Clean all the glass out and scrap out all of the sealant. Be extremely careful with the reflective chrome ..... Clean very gently..... I used clear RTV sealant to seal the new glass lens.
