My new sound

Well, I just finished my sound system. All of the equipment was supplied by ORION as a full sponsor. The equipment was originally going in my 99 civic but I sold it to get the MCS... The sub enclosure and amp rack is fiberglassed and the system includes the following.

two sets of ORION 5.4's with separate tweeters.

one ORION 10' H-2 sub

one ORION 600D amp

one ORION 4004 amp

Alpine 9830 head unit

The sound is out of this world and I was really surprised how hard the one 10' sub hits. I did all the work myself except the wiring so thanks "Jeremy" and I have to have the sub enclosure repainted because the painter didn't match the paint well at all....

Spoken like someone who's first system had 3 15's. Congrats on landing Orion as a full sponsor. Did they offer any suggestions on configuration? How many events are you required to attend? What organization/class are you competing in?

I used to judge for IASCA. Sound Quality was always best when a single sub was used. And unless it was a very expensive specialty sub like the Focal 27 or 30, it was a single 10 that offered the best combo of depth and impact. I still prefer 8's for SQ but a single 10 still hits harder.

Well to be totally honest with you I was worked into the sponsor From Discount Auto Sound in Newport New VA. Discount started carrying the Orion line last year and they used my car "99 Civic" as there demo car for the Orion Line. I've known the GM for Discount about 8 years. Wile attending a show for them I was introduced to A fellow from Directed Electronics and he liked my civic so much he introduced me to his boss. I was offered to up grade the equipment that was in my car and go with all Orion mid / highs because I was using a different brand. Well pictures were taken and hands were shaken, easy as that I was just in the rite place at the rite time. However I sold the civic before the new stuff was installed, but they were cool enough just to go with the MCS sight unseen "HOW COOL" I've talked about doing a few shows up and down the east coast and SEMA but nothing has been put into stone. My car was used this weekend, but I've been out to sea so I'll be getting with them next week. As for competing I'm not into that. I'm more of the car show kind of person, and being the president of my club we attend shows all over the east coast all the way to Atlanta Ga. so that will help promote the product.

Cool. I have met a number of reps and their personalities were all over the map. It's great you're in with a good group of people. Thanks for the info and have fun at the shows.
