It is a bummer!
All you can do is get it fixed!
We hope to see you and your Mini happy again!

There are DIY repair kits on Ebay. Not sure how successful they are. Replacing the fabric with window (no frame) is not a very hard job, I detailed replacing it in the R57 section some time ago and the same process applies to your model too. Should be able to pick up a second hand fabric top for a reasonable price. That looks more like a roadster to my eyes?

Oh no, i have only seen this on a couple R52, way more on the R57 before. Most were down south and under a lot of heat all the time.

There is a DIY here:

I’m not sure I would follow that dyi. It must be hard to get a new top in Mexico for him to repair that mess. Mr. Musculo!

Thats the only one I have seen, other people have mentioned betalink before. I know a convertible top place would be the best and cleanest job of a fix.

Here’s a video of a window repair using Rhino glue, which appears to be a very advanced superglue. It has a lot of good reviews.

Might be better but the betalink is flexible and that stuff is used for MINI and BMW factory body kits and used for all your windshields. So i really like that stuff. It can be a little messy, but if you take your time it should be clean.
