R53 Catback Exhaust

I am looking for a catback exhaust for my 2005 R53. I am thinking the Megan Racing aounds oretty good, but I am up for some suggestions. I don’t want a quiet exhaust, but I also don’t want crazy loud. Lemme know whatcha got! I am in AZ. Cash in hand ;-)

Not sure if your looking for suggestions or actual used systems to buy from somebody.......I don’t have one for sale, it can recommend a decent one that’s reasonably priced.

I have an ireland engineering catback and love it. It’s well made, light weight, and sounds great. This is actually my second one....also had one on my last MINI. You can definitely hear it, but it doesnt really drone on the highway and is not obnoxious by any means. It really brings the pops and burbles of the 05/06 MCS alive and more audible without being raspy....has a nice deeper tone. Can be bought from several vendors here for around $400 shipped.

That said, there are a lot of really great exhausts made for the r53....like Milltec or stratmosphere.....but they cost double of what the IE does.

I also have one of these and as Fastlane states it is light weight and has good sound. However, there are two cons that keeps me from recommending it to any R53 owner.
1. Fit is not good. Sits too close to the bumper cover. Could require bumper trimming and melted mine.
2. Had it through one winter and the muffler is badly rusted. All the flanges, pipes, etc are clean but not the muffler. I think the IE cheated on the material and just used a coated plain steel muffler.

Spend a couple more hundred dollars to get a similar one-sided system and you will be happy!

Thanks for the heads up guys. I am actually looking to buy one, hence why I posted in the Marketplace. I will look into the IE catback a bit. It was ugly to the eye when I first saw it and I dismissed it, but I will check it out.

A previous version of this exhaust had a dual tip tailpipe that looked better IMO.....I had it on my last car and as DJLMINI stated above, it was very difficult to adjust correctly and I also had some melting on my lower facia. This new single exit tailpipe design has a different look for sure, but it has grown on me....and I had zero issues this time aligning/centering it. There are no interference issues with the facia. I haven’t had rust issues with mine, but they don’t salt the hell out of roads here like they do other places.

This exhaust wasn’t my first choice, but this car has ended up needing LOTS of things replaced....so I opted for a cheaper alternative. I’m happy with it for the price.

I am not a fan of that single tip at all.

I'm considering selling mine and I'm in SoCal so not too far away.

It's from a company in the UK and it looks identical to the Miltek

Well the Megan is made for the early style 02-03 hangers so putting it on an 04+ car will require modification, But even then they don't fit right so I wouldn't recommend it.

I've removed more broken and falling apart Ireland exhaust than I have installed so I wouldn't recommend that. https://www.waymotorworks.com/irelan...k-exhaust.html
Magnaflow is LOUD and DRONES. https://www.waymotorworks.com/magnaf...-cooper-s.html
Borla is ok, but pricey https://www.waymotorworks.com/borla-...haust-r53.html
Milltek or Strat would be the best choice as they make the most torque and fit right. If you want it louder go with the Non res version.

Bonus Milltek is on sale right now with FREE ship
