Check with your nearest dealership. You HAVE to provide proof of ownership: VIN, DL and registration to acquire a replacement. Do not be sucked in to ordering one from any other source. You wouldn't believe how much band width has been wasted on this forum by those who tried to cheap out and wind up at the dealer's parts counter anyway.

There are a couple of online dealerships that will do if for about 20% less as I recall. Mini Parts Mass comes to mind as the one I checked out in the past.

 

Yes- MINI of Peabody is at minipartsmass.com; order online to get the discount. Put the last 7 of your VIN in at realoem.com, then go to "bodywork" and scroll down to get the part number for the key (there's two types; standard and comfort access and they are not interchangeable as far as I know).

New fobs are about $135 through MINI of Peabody; the cut blade is ordered separately and runs about $20 to $30 more.
