I was recently lucky enough to find a set of Gen 1 Auxiliary Gauges and the pod on e-bay. Unfortunately the wiring harness was not included, so I am looking to buy one. Part number is 82940142635, I believe.

Thank you in advance.

I just uninstalled this gauge set.You could make one for cheaper.

It's literally 4 wires.
Power and Ground are picked up at the cigarette lighter wires via vamp connectors.

This supplies the power for the oil temp gauge and the voltage for the volt gauge.

Illumination is picked up at the cig. lighter bulb also via vamp conncetor.

You have to run one extended wire out to the oil temp sender and that's it.

All the connections to the gauges are standard spade so nothing fancy there.

Good luck, those things are long gone, but sometimes pop up on ebay. Check for Mc40s in salavge yards or sometimes people got them in JCW cars. But yes you could make your own up on the leads.

Here is the kit and the install PDF to help. It has the connection overview on page 3 of that PDF link.

The OEM Oil temp sensor that replaces the plug in oil pan which sends info to oil temp gauge is made by VDO. You can still purhase them on the internet. Just get the correct thread/pitch.

Thank you. Several places sell the sensor/drain plug, inc ECS. It's the wiring (#6) that I am looking for. I'm kinda, well a lot actually, OCD about things being "factory". If I can't find what I'm looking for then a homemade harness will have to do the job.

Yes, you can do it yourself. The tape looks like hockey stick grip tape.
