a little road trip north

Ok, I'll start it out. It isn't much of an adventurous story, but here goes...

Back in early June we moved from South Florida to South Carolina. I loaded up the Mini and headed north, overnighting in Daytona Beach. I had 2 cats along for the ride, and they had NEVER been on a car trip over 10 minutes before. I thought they'd be pukin' all over and trashing my Mini, but they were great. No mess, other than a little cat hair.

When I left Daytona the next morning, I went nonstop to St. Mary's, Georgia and gassed up. More than one person asked me about the car as I was filling up. They were a little shocked when I told them I got 32 mpg, and that was going about 70-75 most of the way, with the a/c on (and a cvt). And the car was full of stuff too! This as they were gassing up those suv behemoths that get like 10 mpg! I then went nonstop for 5&1/2 hours more, to Simpsonville, SC. The car ran great, and I never felt uncomfortable at any time. I have the sport seats and cruise control, which makes highway driving a pleasure.

This is BY FAR the best car I have ever owned, even with a cracked windshield and a leather-peeling issue on the steering wheel (both fixed right away).

Sounds like it was a great trip! It's surprising how well kitties do sometimes. We moved across country last year with 3 of them - in cages of course....but they still did great...

Glad to hear you got to your new destination safe and sound...

Chow!
