Big brakes and 17" wheels

Like many of my somewhat impulsive purchases, I wanted a big brake system but could not wait to verify whether it would fit my 16" winter wheels. I bought and installed the UUC system for the front, and I have been very happy with it. There was some early indication that it may fit some 16'' wheels. Now comes the moment of truth that I have been putting off.

After cleaing my car this weekend I decided to lift one corner and see how one of my 16" Monzas would fit over the big brakes. I concluded that with some grinding and at least 12mm of spacer, it would work but with very little clearance. I don't want to change brake systems for winter use, so I think the safest bet is to get 17" snow tires this year and sell my white 16" wheels with Dunlop snows (i also sould sell the S-lites). This will also allow me to rationalize some forged summer wheels in the spring if I want to go back to winter and summer wheel sets.

Anyone had any success with big brakes like the UUC and 16" wheels?

If not, anyone interested in white 16" Monza wheels with Dunlop M2 runflat snows and painted wheel centers with custom decal may PM me.
