Pre Facelift Heated Seats on Facelift R53

I am looking to install the heated seats into my 2005 Facelift R53, I found a set of seats from a 2002 that are heated. I was told that this may set an airbag light because there isn't an airbag in the seat on the pre-facelift R53's. I know that I have to get the retrofit kit in order to install them.

why not just try to find a newer set of heated seats? There are many out there!

Are you certain that a 2002 S doesn't have airbags in the seats? My '03 was built in August of 2002 and has tags on the seats indicating airbags. As I recall there are a total of six airbags- two in the dash, two in the front seats, and two curtain airbags. I don't think any of that changed between the 2002 and 2003 models.

You can check parts very easy by going to RealOEM. Be sure to have the month that the car was built. By comparing part numbers you will know if you can change without a whole lot of messing around.

And going to move this to the Mod - Interior/Exterior

There's a sensor in the facelift seats that isn't in the pre-facelift seats. So yes, you will have an airbag (SRS) warning light on unless you code it out
