R60 Slightly improved my fuel mileage
Slightly improved my fuel mileage
I just read a post on here the other day where someone was asking about how to improve fuel mileage and for the life of me, I can't find that post now.
Just for fun I decided to try a couple things and see what kind of a difference it would make.
On my last two tanks of gas, I gained 38 miles and 37 miles, respectively. I gained this by increasing front tire pressure from 32 to 33.5 and rear from 32 to 34. I also started shifting at 2500 RPM rather than at 3000 or higher for the lower gears.
My mileage could be even better but at least 4 days a week my commute to and from work is spent at around 80 mph and 3100 RPM. That's just when I'm not passing people, because in North Florida, commuting is a competitive sport.
