New to our family an 07 MCS
Hi Gang,
My sister purchase an 08 MSC with automatic (wow, not my choice, but I guess I will be working on it)
She bought it at the San Fran dealer auction and we have not picked it up yet. It was advertised as green light, which means it is drive-able and safe (I never hold my breath on this type of promise)
It is Laser Blue metallic with white top and stripes.
It has 116K on the clock, so I am sure I am going to have to do a lot of work to ensure it will survive, long trips!
Pictures to follow, when I get it in!
Wish me luck!
Sorry it is actually an 2008

Here is how it is:
My Sister Liz, is part owner in our business. She does not often listen to wisdom ( or, me) and beats to her own drum! I had told her to refrain from second gen N14 engines. She obviously chose not to heed my warning!
I love as my sister, but I do have visions of ringing her neck! LOL
I further see I am going to be spending way too much time and money, for this turbo nightmare I am about to begin!
N14 and auto tranny! Sheesh!
Maybe she will see the light and we will pass it on to someone else that needs punishment!
I'll keep you posted!

Ok, I hurt my neck and right arm, so I have not been wrenching on this car yet. I never sell cars I do not bring to a good level first, so we have been driving it for about a 1000 miles. It is running and driving well and getting around 31 MPGs. It runs and drives well, with no sense of a miss, but has coded a faulty cylinder #4 injector, all for wheel pressure sensors are bad and the tires were shot and I had no key to take off the lugs.
I found the correct tool to remove the lugs, after two days trying to get one! Had the tires changed and that's when we realized the wheel sensors were bad. I elected to just pass that expense on, as they are around $68 per wheel and it needs all four. In retrospect, this may have been an error on my part, but too late for me to deal with that now!
The car runs and drives great now, but it is missing cruise control, which I deam as a must, for a car for me!
I have not looked into the injector issue, but I am also not certain it is the reason for the code. I know these engines have a common issue with carbon build up in the intake at the valves, so I am hoping this will prove it is not. (like I said, it runs and drives fine now)
It stops great, but the rotors on the brake system are totally worn out and the rear rotors are just starting to hit the metal part of the brake pads. Somewhere in my shop, I have a new set of pads and rotors, so I guess I will have to tackle that soon and also replace the brake sensors.
This car looks great and will find a new owner to love it, once I am done bring it back up to user friendly status!

It does not have any codes for the abs system. Wheel speed works fine too!
I have dealer tester: MaxiSys Pro with wireless communication J2534 ECU. It is a darned good unit!
Anyway, I am changing the rotors and pads with ceramic ones doing oil service and changing plugs and looking into the injector issue.
It will make a nice little Mini for someone.
Yep, they were all dead (batteries). Not sure why. The guy that does my tires is trustworthy. He makes nothing from me on this.

Sorry I misread the OP. I thought you were referring to wheel speed sensors as opposed to the TPMS senors. Makes more sense now. The batteries in the units do go after a while.

Hi All,
I did get everything working well on this car and it went to a new owner on 4/9/2018.
I just don't get why BMW kept using the N14 engine for so long? May have been a contract, but why would they hurt their credibility for Minis?
I am happy that so many owners have been able to keep them on the road and this one is surely one of the better ones out there!
During my ownership, We put on over 1000 miles on it and after some frustration with the brake and abs sensors, the car is now right!
All four of the tire pressure sensors were dead! I left them that way! I have software to set them up, but none were responsive.
