Hi people! My name is Ruslan, I'm mini fan and i have Mini Cooper S R56 (2008) with the JCW tuning kit from the factory which include:

1. JCW aero kit with carbon rear diffuser and carbon front vent scoop.
2. JCW exhaust with air pipe.
3. Chip (194 h.p.)
4. And JCW lowering springs

Now I'm choosing right wheels for my mini, and I need right specs for my new wheels, tires and suspension. Mini people, please, help me)
I already bought legendary r107 GP1 wheels by a good price, but they are only 7j ( I need smth wider for my car. I want r18 wheels, but r17 is much more better for a daily drive, is't it?

Now my friend from the club sells his Work Meister S1 wheels (R17 / 8j / et40), is it cool variant, or i need 18" ?)

 

What are you using these tires for? Street driving only? Any track?

Are you using OEM suspension and brakes or have plans for lowering or big brake kit?

For what weather? Any temperatures under 40 degrees? Are your roads smooth or full of pot holes?

The exact tire you choose makes more difference than the wheel and tire size when it comes to handling and performance. Do you have the budget for wider wheels and wider tires?

For your MINI in general you can do fine with 215/45-17 (good tire selection) and 17x7" like the GP1 wheels.

18" wheels in general will require a shorter sidewall like 215/40-18 tires which usually ride firmer and aren't friendly for bad roads.
