Anyone buy this aftermarket Intercooler?

Has anyone bought one of these aftermarket Intercoolers for the MCS??

Looks like it might be too big for the top of the engine

Thoughts?

There are threads around here about intercoolers. The main issue is the ability to shed the heat and size alone is not the only factor. That is the size of the GP cooler but I don't know what type of flow is has.

Not to mention, if those pictures are at all accurate, those mounting tabs aren't correct at all.

Most aftermarket coolers are more form than function, there isn't a cooler that compares in quality, fit, finish, or performance to the GP factory intercooler.

We've taken loads of those cheap eBay intercoolers off of cars due to how they fit, or the lack of mounting solutions for them, most actually increase IATs and lose power.

So I guess from all the responses that this is not worth the time or money? I've been retired from the automotive technician industry for a few years now....if it was possible to mount this, I can make it fit and function, but if you say that it's not worth it, I'll pursue other options

Reason for this thread is that the OE one on my R53 has a pin hole in it, and it's deep inside the cooling fins, it's not worth my time or $$ to have a local welder repair this, plus it will look like crap when done because he has to remove the cooling fins to get to the hole for repair

Thanks guys

Bryan

If somebody made a decent unit you would think there would be a market for them.

I have seen quite a few good, used intercoolers on eBay usually around $50-60.
