Drivetrain Hesitation w/ CAI Installed
Hesitation w/ CAI Installed
I installed my Forge CAI yesterday and drove it around a bit and noticed a hesitation and bogging down when I am in 5th gear, push the pedal at 4k @80mph ish. All the other gears are fine, just 5th
The MAF is on tight so I don't think that's the issue. I dont know if I should reset my computer by disconnecting the negative battery terminal or just give it time to learn that there is a new system.
Any ideas/suggestions? Of course with this stupid holiday, I cant call them until tomorrow.

Yeah, I think you are right, give it time. I have about 60mi on it. Now that im driving back and forth to work I'll be able to check more because I'll be driving more
Thanks
I love it! Im sure it a butt dyno but there does seem to be a little faster throttle response. The extra engine noise is pretty awesome too.
I think my ECU just needed to relearn the new piece. I got about 100mi now and havent noticed any lag when Im in 5th

reset all adaptations the ECU may have and put some miles on it. If you are still experiencing the hesitation then you are more than likely having issues with the maf not reading correct airflow due to turbulence the forge intake is causing.
It was actually the seal on the MAF. It wasnt in the intake pipe all the way so I think a little air was getting in. I have about 2k on it since and it drives and sounds like a dream!
