Im about to go see this car. I need some quick input because I’m feeling like maybe the price is a bit steep. 41kmiles all stock 2006 jcw with lsd

Seems to be well taken care of. IMO it's a very nice car, but not an $11K car. Take my opinion with a shaker of salt because all I've ever owned are 2nd and 3rd Gen cars.

I appreciate the input. The car appears to be very clean and basically is the most desired R53 aside from the GP seeing that it was optioned with chrono, jcw, lsd, etc (3al).

I just feel its a hair too expensive but the seller is very firm on the price.

Also, its red. That can be a good thing and a bad thing.

If I really wanted it and was in the financial position to have what I wanted then no problem with price. Figure out what you want to pay, sit back and compare the difference between the two numbers and decide what your time, enjoyment, etc. is worth to you. GL - looks nice.

Make sure to get it checked out (PPI) if you aren't mechanically savvy.

that is a really nice car, while it's expensive it is a one year only model and a very nice example

just keep GP1 prices in mind, 11k is not terrible

I paid a premium for a 2006 jcw with no sunroof or climate control and got rid of my 2nd gen minis

Hello, I just purchased a 2006 JCW Checkmate edition, 90km(I assume yours was miles so around the same), all the same options excluding cronos however, it came with a second set of wheels and tires and all maintenance paperwork from the beginning and from what I can tell from the pics, near the same condition. I paid $8500CAD. I probably overpaid, wouldnt be the first time as I have done it before to get a car I wanted. I know, not the same car but just some perspective and its not Red....I have a Red car already😄

Seems a little steep to me. Visually, the car looks well maintained. If you have a few more G'$, you could get a GP.

Nice looking car. Another guy just bought a 04 JCW, 34k miles for $8270 from a dealer. Is 2 years newer with the LSD worth almost $3k more? For me only if the PPI checks out, up close it looks better than the pictures and I had the money to pay premium for the car.

Are you planning on keeping the car? Modding it?

I think it's a fair asking price for a very clean looking low mileage car. I would probably look at it and shoot to negotiate down to under $10,000.

It's interesting the purchaser opted for the chrono package but not for the upgraded auto climate control.

I like those JCW sills.

If it was mine I would want more then 11K (and I own 3 2006 factory JCW's) . Positives are low miles, R98 wheels, chrono, and rear fog. I keep an eye on factory JCW's for sale and they are hard to find. Most auto climate control cars are equipped that way because of luxury package (which comes with sunroof), so purchaser wanted sunroof but not the auto climate control and didnt save much money choosing that route.

Yep, you want wind in your hair, that is of course if you have hair, get a Vert.

You know what they say about hair? God only makes a certain amount of perfect heads, for the rest, he gives us hair.

I won't disagree with you there. I like to drive with my window partially open pretty much year round and the auto climate control doesn't like dealing with that.

Convertibles aren't great, I hardly every drove with the top down on my Miata. I much prefer the large sunroof on a hardtop.

You can probably afford the 11k, or you wouldn't be going to look at it and asking for advice. So the question is simple: if the PPI checks out, is that car worth 10/11k to YOU?

Given that the car looks good up close and personal, and the inspection checks out, I would probably pay (if I had it) 10/11k for a low mileage, Chili Red '06 JCW.

Thats super clean and has the tuning kit and the JCW brakes, i dont think it has the JCW suspension. I dont see the red springs and it looks like the normal ride height. Does have the NLA checkered floor mats that i have in my MINI, chrono kit, web spokes. Does have full toggle bank, but only has the leatherette seats. Heated seats, but not h/k sound system. No auto climate control. Does have JCW sills but no Aero kit. Good luck on the sale. Thats what I can see from the pics.

The 06 MCS JCW are hard to find. Low mile examples are exponentially harder.
I have never worried to much about mileage, as I go though it anyway, so I never really found a plus to the lower mileage cars. Mine are used and are not trailer/garage Queens!
I hope you find the one, because when you do, you won't need us to help you make your decision, you will already know it is for you!

Honestly, I would not pay 11k for that car....and that's from a guy who basically paid $12k for a very similar car. My reasoning is simple, I paid $12k for a red 2006 JCW with many of the same options, but my car had the factory aerokit, english leather interior, all the JCW carbon fiber exterior pieces, red dash, and HK stereo. So to sum it up, I agree with Noozio that this car tops out around $9k in my value book.

That being said, for the right person I could totally see this car changing hands for 11k.

I was just looking around and it is slim pickings for JCW cars right now, I'm glad I bought when I did.
