summer tires in winter?

hey all
has anyone tried to drive their MINI on summer tires...in winter? I know it sounds stupid, but i just dont have the cash as of yet to buy expensive winter tires...thers so much else that i want!! If i dont drive in snow, can i survive the winter on my pirelli euphorias??

I have the same "run bricks"on my 02 S. The weather in Chi town is similar to Milw. wouldn't recommend it, unless you can count on consistantly plowed roads and that you'll never get caugh in a snow storm.

I did it on the Pirelli Euphori@s last winter and bought Dunlop M3s for this winter. It was very difficult to move in the snow. I did it, but I wouldn't recommend it. TireRack has winter packages starting around $500 with the Blizzaks which are of legendary performance in the snow.
