Reduction pulleys and the companies that offer warranties that sell/install them
For the Mini parts and service companies that sell/install pulleys and offer a warranty.
This thread made me wonder:

If gclass had one of you install his pulley, how would you handle this issue?
Would you cover the cost of the repair?
I could see this easily becoming a situation where the dealer and a pulley supplier pointing fingers at each other and the Mini owner paying the tab.
Thoughts?
I could be wrong but, I think that there are people like me that have not purchased a pulley (yet) because we are chicken…

While you have a point, I suggest that the 15% pulley, done correctly, is a safe mod. The JCW comes with a 14% (actually 13.8%) which is warranted by the factory. It truly is rare for a 15% failure. Not all, but many dealers have no warranty problems with a 15% pulley and CAI (check with your dealer to make sure). They aren't happy with ECU mods but, they can't tell unless you tell them. I have had the Alta Pulley & CAI for almost 10K miles. Tensioner still has plenty showing on indicator (guessing 1/4 to 3/8 inch).
I saw on Randy's site www.webbmotorsports.com he is offering a warranty on what he installs. He did my pulley and I'm very happy with the results.

Is aftermarket pulley installs inferior, in reliability, to stock or JCW, anyone have statistics?
The only feedback I ever get is of aftermarket failures!
Who has the least pulley related failures (percentage)?
· Stock MCS
· JCW
· Aftermarket 15%
· Aftermarket greater than 15%

Just do the 15%pulley:smile: and MOTOR ON
I spent too much time wondering if it was "safe" and when i finally did it i wondered what took me so long.
The JCW is too expensive, unless you want a 5K warrenty. The 19% results sound wonderful, but failures have been reported regarding the belt, dont know of other failures with the 19% and it seems to have survived the heat of summer.
In everything there is a risk.
