Can the brake pad sensors be reused if the pads are replaced before the sensors trigger the service light? I want to freshen up my brakes, and replace the dusty OEM pads with something less dusty.

 

I reused my sensors on both the R53 and now my R52.

You wont regret the TCE wilwood set up.
For the sensors, just zip tie them up and out of the way.

 

On the R56 once the sensor is worn half way it has to be replaced and can't be reused as the car uses them to calculate how far they can go on the remaining pad. So once the sensor is worn half way the computer knows and calculates how long they will last based on how long it took to get half way.

I've re-used them....the only problem is that the plastic can become very brittle and break when you re-install them....leaving you with a warning light until you get a new one. I like the OEM sensors best....they just seem to fit better...length of wire and insert nicely into the pad.

On a car that you don't put lots of miles on and have the opportunity to inspect...like when you change wheels for events, then tieing them (unworn ones) off isn't a big deal.
