What! Snow on my MINI?

Weatherman says maybe some snow tomorrow... can't believe it's getting to that time again. Always get questions about how the MINI handles in the snow. This will be my third snow season with my MCS. Everybody ready?

Godspeed.

Mmmmm snow...now there's something I can't say I miss a whole lot...I spent the first 16 years of my life in Maine avoiding yellow snow and wearing moon boots. after that, I spent 11 years in North Carolina with a heavy sweater and now I'm in the desert of Arizona with a giant bottle of lotion...My boyfriend (Tuls) and I have talked about moving to Connecticut so we'll either have to trade mine in and/or get another one my girl's a cooper w/no cold weather package she'd be nekkid and toss me into the snowy embankment, that is if my butt isn't frozen to her non heated seat.

I was a bit disappointed with the way T.D. handled in the snow last year. Granted it was a heavy snow (especially for NC!), but the front end fish tailed a lot when starting or stopping. Might be the performance tires on there, but not sure.

Do they call it fish tailing when it's the front end swinging back and forth?

The heated seats are nice. The heated mirrors aren't worth it. Cause too many water spots for my taste. As for the heated jets.... Can't say that I noticed a difference.

Ummmm... don't think they (whomever they are) do call it fishtailing when it's the front end...? That's called "it's slippery out".... Least I only call the rear end moving fishtailing...

I was a Chicago girl up until last summer... my MCS was fine in snow. Even managed just fine mowing through my unplowed parking lot without snow tires, though snow shoes would be mighty nice if I end up back in the great white winterland... okay, maybe grey , but... I miss winter. Maryland winters are wimpy.

It's frosty out tonight, looking at 26F for a low, nothing for a MINI to deal with.
I look forward to snow, slipping when I want, taking control of sliding when need be,plowing through snow,it's fun, easy on the car,and good for the motoring skills

Trying to keep my MINI clean is what bugs me the most about winter. In good weather I really enjoy it... but in winter: the garage is cold, the MINI is cold, the MINI actually get DIRTY instead of just dusty, the car gets dirty again 2 minutes down the road, not too mention road salt!

Mmmmm... I think I need to buy a space heater for the garage...

Dogspeed.

one of the leading causes of rust,is cars that have salt on them sitting in heated garages.

Get a set of Blizzak tires. Many people swear by them. But we don't need them here in Cali.
