I signed up for Helix MINISPORTS email newsletter last week. This Tuesday, the day before my MINI was born, I got my first edition of the newsletter. Stuff on sale for 10% off, installation 20% off. I placed my order for the clear tail lamps today, and Eric of Helix said he'll extend the 20% off installation discount if my MINI doesn't make it by the time the sale ends (Dec. 20th). The whole deal with cost around $300. I'm so happy, I'm so excited, I'm beside myself.

That's great news! I have been debating on whether or not to get clear taillights for my MINI.....I am still undecided, but that is REALLY good information to know just in case I decide in the very near future to do it!

I think the clear lights look great on Pure Silver.

I also added the clear tail lights to my dark grey cooper S - but be AWARE - I live in California and got stopped twice by the police (coppers) as I had no "red reflector". Was not DOT approved. They tried to write me a "get fixed ticket"
So you can buy a relector kit (about $35) that you add to the bumper. The kit wants you to drill holes in the bumper. bit I just stuck on the reflectors - I will post a picture later. Looks good - havn't been stopped by the coppers !!

I am actually going to wait and see if they come out with something a little less clear before I make my final decision on what I am going to do.....maybe smoked taillights, but not those covers that you can get....

britsf: Welcome to MCO!

I would really like something for the MINI like the Hella Smoked tails for the Jetta. Hella makes a very nice product. I know MINI Madness sells a kit to tint your taillights, but the $99 they want for a sheet of tint (tint!?!?!) is ludicrous.

What attracted me most to the MINI were the shots of the IB MC on the accessories catalog, that looks damn sweet. Definately on my wish list for XMass
