I am looking at getting the aero kit on my next MC. Would anybody with the factory aero kit please post their pics?

Have you been pleased?

Thanks.

here are two threads i did on the aero kit. do a search and you will find tons more. i really like my kit. it holds up well to most anything, was very easy to install, and fit well, but also kept the lines of the mini. i knew from day one i had to have it.

take a look:

Did you put any of the Cleargard type products on it?

How's it holding up as far as road abuse from pebbles etc...

So what is the total cost of doing this?

I see that the kit in my Mini catalog is $1200... unpainted. I didn't see that it had parts for the trim over the wheels though.

I absolutely LOVE the look of the aero kit... I just wouldn't be able to do any of the work myself and I fear it's a little out of my budget

So even when you include it on your order, the dealer still has to do the installation? $1250 plus installation?

Yes. The aero kit is a dealer installed accessory. The factory doesn't do it and the parts are shipped primed and unpainted. You may be able to save a few dollars by ordering the parts and then taking them to a paint and body shop to be painted and installed. I'd only do that if it was a shop that you were familiar with and knew they did top quality work.

The best looking body kit I have seen comes from ESQUISS.
Great!
Evan has a modification for the air scoop for larger intercooler if wanted.

Here's a shot of my car. We also sanded the black smooth, painted it with flexbond, then body matched everything. The result is outstanding! I had my car in stock guise for the first couple of years, and now I just can't stop looking at it! I wish I had done this when I first got the car.

You can see from the last shot in the series that I kept the stock rear bumper, and just painted it to match. In my humble opinion, I like this look better than the rear aerokit bumper.

Hope that helps!
Randy

It should come that way. If you wanted the black plastic trim painted body color they would probably do it for you as they have a bodyshop there.

There is a customer on the East Coast that I saw had a CR/CR with the aerokit painted to match (no black fenders) and silver stripes front and back, and the result was smashing! I'll see if I can figure out who's it was to send you a pic.

That would be great!

I'm trying right now to figure out what stripes I want... I'm having a pretty hard time though.

I had the bonnet stripes before, and I had intended on replacing them after painting the car. It looked so solid and mean without any stripes, I decided not to go with any at all. I think it looks as good as any MINI I've seen - and I've seen a bunch!

Good luck, and I'll try to find who's car that was.
