Acetone or fingernail polish remover

Rubbing alcohol - yes.
Acetone - no.

Actually soap, warm water, and some scratching action with your nails
usually work.

If the car was not really clean, the bonding of the paint is probably not very good. A good automotive polishing compound should take it off.

Claybar!

Always start with the least abrasive product and only go more abrasive if the first one didn't do the trick. Start with claybar, then a paint polish, then a fine-cut rubbing compound (recommend 3M), then a medium-cut rubbing compound (3M, again).

I'd be willing to bet that the claybar will quickly solve your problems.

ACETONE? DO NOT DO THIS!!!
Not only will acetone remove the problem paint, it will also start to strip away your clear coat! Maybe someone in a paint shop will feel comfortable doing this, but I'd never go near my cars with a hard organic solvent.

I do believe he was, but maybe he's been clear coated also.
