I just purchased a new (to me) Mini Cooper Clubman S 2013. This is my second mini. My first was a mini cooper 05.

I would really like to add stripes to my mini but I am not really interested in being limited by what the dealer has. I have seen more interesting stripes out there aside from the one option provided by the dealer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to purchase the vinyl stripes? Have you found it is cheaper to buy stripes on your own and then take them somewhere to be installed or is it cheaper to let your installer find them for you as well?

Also - and I know this is a weird question but has anyone ever seen or done the stripes in black on chili red with a small pink pin stripe detail added? I have been hunting everywhere to see if I can find an image of that to see what it would look like and no luck. I did find an image on the chili red with an added yellow pinstripe but I am not really interested in yellow.

 

If you provide stripes to an installer and they don't work well or don't last then you are out of luck. Best bet is a local shop with a good reputation or DIY. Cheap will get you cheap job.

It seems like Vinyl Styles in San Carlos and Mr. Tint in San Jose both have good reputations and can do custom stripes. I am still waiting on quotes from both but figured it was worthwhile to see if there were any good recommendations for manufacturers of the stripes themselves so I could make the most informed decision possible. :-)

Thanks gRay rAven! Looks like there are lots of great options including some that are near identical to some of the images I had found in an image search that I liked. :-)

 

Check past reviews on some of those online vendors, not all of them are well reviewed.

They made the roof graphics for my Faux GP.

Took them to my window tinter, did a fantastic job installing them.
BTW, he installed them wet.

Stripes can be made from the same material and install the same way .....

they can make anything you want .....
