I've been looking all over for a pair of 10mm spacers for my R56 and I'm only coming up with 5mm, 8mm, and 12mm. Can anyone point in me in the right direction for a pair of 10mm ones? Or do they not exist for some reason?
8mm wouldn't be enough, and I think 12mm would make me rub on the wheel arches.
Maybe a stupid question, but would it be unsafe to stack 2 5mm spacers on top of each other? I can't really find a good answer for that either. I can't imagine it would hurt too much as long as they're hubcentric, I know some old school muscle car guys that just use washers as wheel spacers...
spacers up to 8mm will sit on the hub and the wheel will still fit on the hub to be centered
spacers 12mm+ cover the factory hub and the spacer itself provides a hub for the wheel to center on.
there arent many spacers in the 8-12mm range because they completely cover the factory hub, but there isnt enough material on the spacer to provide a hubcentric ring for the wheel.
im sure 10mm 4x100 spacers are available but the 56.1mm hub opening isnt very typical, so the spacer wont be hubcentric and youll be trying to mount the wheel without a centering hub
Okay so now the problem I'm having is that I can only find 1 set of 12mm spacers (Mini Mania) and they don't sell them without the extended bolts, so they cost $115 for a pair... that's not happening.
15mm spacers are pretty common, but then I don't think I'd have enough length on my stud conversion to get enough engagement with the lug nuts.
So.... What's everyone's thought on stacking 2 5mm spacers to get 10mm spacing?
So is the lip on the outside of the spacer the same diameter as the lip on the hub? From the pictures it looks like would be larger, meaning my hubcentric rings would be too small.
I took the wheel off, so I now see what you mean about the hub ring not being long enough for a 10mm spacer. I think I will have to go with 12 or 15mm as long as it is safe with the stud conversion kit.
how long of studs?
i have 15mm with wmw studs, the lug nuts go past the end of the stud, but they engage like 10/11 threads if i remember right.
i ordered a set of 12mm that will prob put the studs flush with the lug nuts
i'll be honest with you though
i looked around for some also, couldnt find a set without studs and just did a random google search for those. couple lexus/g forums said they had good luck and were legit. should be delivered in the next day or two and i'll let you know how it goes. wasnt interested in paying $100+ for them with new lug bolts either

what offset are your wheels? this is mine with 17x7.5 et45 ,235/40, with 15mm spacer. i was worried about clearance to coilovers but it has plenty, 10mm prob would be perfect for me also
We have the 8 and the 15mm for those reasons with being hubcentric and a safe fitment. If you are doing studs we have them by themselves also.
I would measure first with the wheels and tire option you are doing to get flush or measure from the arch to be sure you need 12mm. Most people go 8mm or 15mm. But with aftermarket wheels and offsets and can go all over the board.
I have 20mm on 17" stock MINI wheels and its pretty flush.
I'm running 15" wheels (because they're 11.6 lbs) so I'm not trying to just be flush, I'm trying to get the wheels to not rub on anything. 5mm spacers in the front and everything clears, but 5mm in the back and the wheel rubs on the bottom of the control arm where the bottom shock bolt is. 8mm wouldn't give me enough to be comfortable, 10mm would be ideal for the stance, but I understand now why there aren't any 10mm spacers out there. I don't really want to go with 15mm spacers because I feel that will be too much, so I'm hoping "randeez" has good luck with the ones he linked. If not, I'll get 15mm spacers and call it a day. WMW got back to me today, the stud conversion kit is safe for 15mm spacers.
just to see if it worked, I mounted front with only 4mm spacer and can spin tire without it contacting anything, but even with 205s i could see where they rubbed the coilover a little bit after driving.
I put the 4mm spacers on the back with 235 tires, closest thing is the trailing arm and top of the wheel well where it bumps out for the suspension. doesnt hit anything without the spacer just sitting there but while driving things get pushed around
The 12mm spacers i ordered finally showed up after more than 2 weeks. they are nice though - i mean its just a spacer, kind of hard to mess up either way. i didnt install them but lined it up with my stock rims and the hubcentric (56.1mm) fits nice and snug.
I think you can buy the hubcentric rings but if youre using conical lug nuts with the studs i wouldnt worry about it to much
I ended up ordering 8mm from ECS and already put them on and they'll probably be staying, looks the best imo. I didnt take a picture of the coilover clearance but i'm in the 4-5mm range for clearance with 8mm spacers pretty much right on the edge of the fender.
I got an email from Way telling me the stud conversion kit is fine to use with 15mm spacers, so that's what I went with. I'm not thrilled but I don't think it'll make that much of a difference.
